Description
Swiss Chard Colour Mix gives you stems in red, orange, yellow and white, all from one packet. The dark green crinkled leaves are equally good sauteed, steamed or added to soups. As productive as spinach but much hardier in cool weather.
One of the most visually striking vegetables you can grow. The coloured stems look beautiful in the garden and on the plate. Cut the outer leaves and the plant keeps producing new ones from the centre. Lasts from late spring well into winter.
🌱 Sowing depth: 1–2 cm
📅 Sow: spring to mid‑summer for cropping from summer into autumn and beyond
☀️ Light: full sun or light partial shade
🌡️ Germination: 7–14 days in favourable conditions
📏 Height: medium clumps with upright leaves and prominent ribs
🪴 Spacing: 25–30 cm between plants; 30–40 cm between rows
⏳ Harvest: from about 60 days after sowing; cut outer leaves and let the centre regrow for repeat picking
