Description
Piccolo Provenzale is a rustic dwarf heritage pea from Provence. Compact plants that do not need tall supports. Sweet, flavourful peas in abundant pods. One of the best varieties for small gardens, containers and raised beds.
Sow direct outdoors from March. Support with short twiggy sticks or a low net. The peas are good enough to eat straight from the pod while you are standing in the garden. That is the test of a proper pea variety.
Featured on the BBC programme โGrow Your Ownโ with Carol Kline in January 2007, this variety has a long history of reliability and taste. With approximately 200 seeds per packet (70 g), Piccolo Provenzale is perfect for fresh eating, freezing, or adding to soups and risottos.
